COMPASS Hires New Chief Information Security Officer
Adds Expertise to Existing Cyber Security Practice Group

Nemes as its Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Cyber Security Practice Leader.

In this capacity, Mr. Nemes will lead all technical and operational aspects of COMPASS’s government and commercial cyber security consulting solutions for clients. He will also supervise the development and implementation of new COMPASS service offerings and the underlying systems necessary to support them. “A natural leader and cyber security expert like Ronald is exactly who COMPASS needs to ensure that we continue to deliver impeccable solutions to our clients,” said COMPASS and North Star CEO Robert Olsen. “His depth and breadth of experience is the perfect fit for the COMPASS family.”

A seasoned cyber security professional, Nemes is accomplished in bridging business and technical needs to achieve client success and has extensive experience in designing, implementing, and assessing network infrastructure and security for the Department of Defense and federal information systems. Prior to joining COMPASS, he served as a project manager and senior information assurance analyst for the Veris Group, leading the development of key security systems including an ongoing, risk-based authorization process and an enterprise vulnerability scanning process. Nemes has also previously served as Information Systems Security Officer and Security Engineering Lead for multiple Department of Defense entities.

Nemes holds a bachelor of science in computer science and information systems from Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and a master of science in software engineering and organizational management from Monmouth University. He also earned a master of professional studies in cybersecurity from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Nemes is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), and an EC-Council Certified Security Analyst and Licensed Penetration Tester.
