COMPASS Cyber Security hosted Boys’ Latin (BL) student, Alex Meyers, for his senior project. The intent of this project is for BL students to gain exposure and receive hands-on experience in a field that they are interested in pursuing for their future studies and careers.
Alex chose COMPASS because he believes in the overall message of the organization. He said his biggest takeaway from this experience is that “a lot of people look into the technical aspects of cyber security but neglect to consider the human components. Companies can invest thousands of dollars in technology but if employees are not aware of the risks that they face it doesn’t matter.”
Alex started the first ever Cyber Security Club at BL as a sophomore, where he and his team members competed in the Air Force Association’s CyberPatriot Challenge. After BL, Alex is attending Towson University and plans to major in Computer Science with a Cyber Security track.
